Rice University's BioScience Research Collaborative (BRC) is a jointly occupied 700,000 sf research building with significant presence by faculty, students and other researchers from Rice University and multiple leading healthcare and medical research institutions in the Texas Medical Center.

The BRC has been instrumental in building alliances with Texas Medical Center institutions by providing physical collocation of researchers, access to shared equipment and enhanced social gatherings in restaurants and friendly cafes, a bookstore with a coffee bar, lecture halls and break-out spaces all designed for the purpose of inducing collaboration.  The program includes generic labs, bio-nanotechnology and genomics/proteomics cores.

Equipment Collaborative worked with FKP Architects on 150,000 sf of tenant improvements within the building. These improvements included laboratory and support spaces for Bioengineering research.
