and Critical Care Pavilion

Albuquerque, NM
In 2007, Level 1 trauma center University of New Mexico Hospital underwent a major expansion, replacing a total of 210 beds and adding 70 new licensed beds. In addition to expanding the ER and providing dedicated imaging space, as well as a critical care pavilion, the hospital dramatically raised its standards in caring for women and children.

This project is a great example of a super-floor concept with all antepartum, labor, delivery, recovery, C-section and intensive care nurseries on one floor. The neonatal intensive care nurseries are designed in open bays of four babies each with a shared central staff support core. The hospital also features ECMO services, 20 pediatric intensive care beds and 56 pediatric acute care beds.

Equipment Collaborative managed the architecturally significant equipment procurement and placement for the project. Our team also facilitated product selections and confirmed reuse and capital-funded equipment to utilize limited state funds.
