The DCH Cancer Center provides state-of-the-art medical and radiation oncology services within a comforting environment conducive to healing the whole patient — mind, body, and spirit. The design seeks to enhance the patient’s wellbeing through its strong connection to the outdoors, ample use of natural light, dramatic two-story entry rotunda, second level garden terrace, and victory garden. The Cancer Center will create a new image for DCH that will celebrate its uplifting healing environment for all who enter through its doors.

The new 98,000 sf facility consolidates patient access to services and amenities. Patients undergoing radiation treatment will consult with physicians in one of eight exam rooms, and have treatment plans developed with the use of a CT simulator before receiving intensity modulated radiation treatment in one of two linear accelerator vaults. 

Chemotherapy patients will be seen in the Medical Oncology program that includes 10 exam rooms, 24 treatment/infusion stations and support facilities including a pharmacy.  Patients can remain indoors for treatment or relax on the outdoor terrace in lounge chairs. 

The two-story Cancer Treatment Center has future expansion space for radiation oncology, imaging and surgery, with portions designed to expand vertically to a maximum of eight floors.
