Children’s Hospital of Orange County has a goal of becoming a national “top-tier children’s hospital” – after sharing services with an adjacent hospital.  We are guiding the medical equipment planning process for this 425,000 sf expansion of inpatient, diagnostic and treatment services.

Equipment Collaborative has prepared for scenarios using various stacking options, program components and bed counts and are adjusting the timelines for acquisition of equipment to correlate with census and volume projections.  Our team has also worked collaboratively with the other design team members to produce integrated furniture and equipment lists and drawings.

Three-dimensional CAD drawings developed by Equipment Collaborative were used to study boom placement and headwall options in the OR, NICU and PICU areas. The ability to quickly produce these images supported design decisions and built consensus among end users who appreciated visualization of options.
