Education City, Doha, Qatar
The 1.2 million sf, 382-bed Sidra Medical and Research Center (SMRC) will be an all-digital medical center offering world-class specialty care and a teaching venue for the Weill Cornell Medical College as part of the Education City complex in Doha, Qatar.
With dedicated entrances for pediatrics and women’s services, our team worked with the designers to integrate the latest technology to create beautiful spaces that will enhance the care and experience of the patient and their families.
Pediatric services include a 56-bed NICU with all private rooms, a 38-bed PICU, and 12 bed intermediate care unit and 108 beds of acute care beds. Women’s services at SMRC include an OB triage area for pre-delivery assessment, as well as 76 beds for labor, delivery and postpartum care and a 31-bed high-risk obstetric area for antepartum and ICU care. In all patient care areas attention to detail included methods for recessing procedure lights and creating access to equipment, medical gases, medical records and patient entertainment in innovative concepts.
